General Membership Meeting

POST MEETINGS ARE THE SECOND WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH --- NEXT MEETING: Wednesday, 09 September 2026 at 1930.---Meeting location is the Post Home (5417-E Backlick Road, Springfield, Virginia 22151). Virtual attendance is via ZOOM, and a link will be sent to members by email on the meeting day. The uniform is the VFW Member Cap.

VFW Post 7327 (Springfield, VA) and Troop 1344 (Burke, VA) are working with Staff Sergeant Daniel E. Palenski to record his World War II personal history for their upcoming Veterans History Project.

Memorial Day

VFW Springfield Post 7327 supported by American Legion Post 176 and The Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 353 hosted a Memorial Day Observance on Monday, 25 May 2026. The event was held at American Legion Post 176 and included key support from Scouts serving in BSA Troop 1344. Springfield Post 7327 and Scout Troop 1344 also visited veterans at two senior living communities.

Month of the Military Child

April 2027-The Month of the Military Child recognizes the sacrifices and resilience of the over 1.6 million military children in the U.S. It highlights the unique challenges they face—such as frequent relocations and parental deployments—and is celebrated with community events and "Purple Up!" days.

The VFW is dedicated to promoting patriotism and investing in our future generations. If you are a high school student 9-12 (Voice of Democracy) or a middle school student 6-8 (Patriot's Pen), these scholarships are for you. Applications due 31 October 2026.

WELCOME TO VFW SPRINGFIELD POST 7327

Teamwork ~ Leadership ~ Commitment
VFW Springfield Post 7327 works to foster programs that enable our members to work with veterans, the military, and our community. 
  • We support the observance of federal holidays that honor our nation's veterans and their military service, as well as Purple Star Schools and the Month of the Military Child. 
  • Our Post is an active participant in the Virginia Adopt-A-Highway Program with a 2.4-mile section of the Franconia-Springfield Parkway between Beulah and I-95.
 


Commander's Corner

Commander Steve Williams (Navy) Desert Storm & Iraqi Freedom

As Commander, my focus is support to the greater Springfield community, with a special emphasis on veterans and students. 
 
Our Post activities included traditional engagement through the VFW Scholarship Programs, as well as additional support to school events like the Purple Star school initiative and the Month/Day of the Military Child.
 
We host two Veteran Service Officers who are available by appointment to assist with claims.
 
Finally, if you are a veteran seeking a home to support community service opportunities and affiliate with other combat veterans, come see us.  No one does more for veterans than the VFW!

Post 7916 - April 2021 #Still Serving Post of the Month

The members of VFW Post 7916 in Occoquan, Virginia, have demonstrated a commitment to their mission of “Honoring the Dead by Helping the Living” throughout the pandemic. The Post made sure members received health and welfare checks so that those most at-risk, or in need, received essentials. They also delivered food to residents of the town and donated to a local food bank.
